Want to have an easy communal gathering without the fuss of a high-fashion dinner party? Tacos are the way to go. There’s no more surefire way than to round up a couple of pals, hunt down a great margarita recipe, pull out some of your most colorful tableware and get to work assembling ingredients that allow guests to take the lead in building their perfect bite-sized dinner.

First, consider your color palate. You’ll want to draw from the bright and colorful traditions of Mexico, so rustle up any table linens that evoke a cheerful mood. Red, yellow, purple and blue are all great options, and don’t worry about everything matching — it can be eclectic and fun in its own right. Also, don’t shy away from patterns that bring vibrancy to a table setting!

While colorful plates are also a fun bet, galvanized tableware is a great way to incorporate a chicer design element on your table. These stylish aluminum grey plates and serving platters will offset the vibrancy of napkins, tablecloths and placemats to give your food a more subdued canvas on which to shine! Not to mention, these plates, dishes and platters are very easy to clean and are eco-friendly and made from sustainable materials.

Your taco party table would be incomplete without any mention of flowers or greenery. If you don’t have vibrant flowers on hand, consider placing some potted plants on the table for a little visual interest — you could even wrap the pots in bright tissue paper if you’re feeling inclined. String lights will add ambiance as the sun sets, as will tableside tealights and votives. Serve margaritas from a large-bellied glass pitcher or a funky, colorful one! Drinks can also have sprigs of fresh herbs, infused ice cubes or even muddled fruit. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box — we know that your taco-inspired party will be colorful and charming!
